    Smugglers Inn

    • The Smugglers Inn is a perfect example of the traditional English country pub we all know and love.
    • Situated on the South West Coast Path, just down the road from the park on the cliff tops, overlooking the Isle of Portland.
    • Boasting delicious drinks, good food and a warm welcome, be sure to pay the Smugglers Inn a visit during your stay.

    Ringstead Bay

    • A jewel in the crown of Weymouth beach attractions, Ringstead Bay is a shingle beach found at the bottom of steep ancient tracks.
    • Its stunning location on the Jurassic Coast offers superb views across Weymouth Bay to Portland.
    • With incredibly clear waters which are safe for bathing, take your swimsuit because you’ll definitely be tempted to take a dip!

    South West Coast Walking Path

    • A short distance from the park, you can directly access the famous South West Coast Path and the South Dorset Ridgeway route.
    • The Ridgeway not only offers fantastic views of the Jurassic Coast and stunning sea vistas, but also of the inland scenery of river valleys, chalk downland, villages and farmland.
    • It also provides access to some of Dorset’s famous landmarks, including The White Horse, Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove.

    Osmington Roman Walk

    • Right on your doorstep, this 4.7 mile circular walk utilises part of the South West Coast Path as well as heading inland to take in local highlights.
    • This walk offers plenty to see including; beautiful views of the coast; a Roman temple and villa; and a chalk horse carved into the hillside.
    • With only gentle climbs and descents, this is the perfect opportunity to explore the local area.

    Nothe Gardens

    • These informal gardens in a stunning location are perfect for getting out, about and close to nature.
    • Apart from the beautiful gardens themselves, you are also spoilt with sea views overlooking Weymouth and Portland harbours.
    • Nothe Gardens also offers great facilities for your day out including an ice cream hut, café, nature trail and orienteering course.

    Nothe Fort

    • This Victorian fort is found at the mouth of Portland harbour and Weymouth harbour.
    • Discover a labyrinth of underground passageways contrasted by stunning views from the outside areas.
    • Although steeped in history, the fort is often used for a range of modern events including a vantage point to watch sailing during the 2012 Olympics.

    Portland Castle

    • This coastal fort, built in the early 1540s, promises a fun and fascinating day out.
    • Walk through 450 years of history with a free audio tour taking in displays, furnished rooms, games and more.
    • Strategically looking out over Portland Harbour, the bonus of its vantage point is wonderful views from the gun platform, the finishing touch to a visit here.

    The Terracotta Warriors Museum

    • An unusual and interesting exhibition, this museum offers a rare insight to the First Emperor of China’s famous Terracotta Army.
    • Over 8000 life-size clay warriors protected the emperor’s tomb and they are now referred to as the eighth wonder of the ancient world.
    • The exhibition includes a small group of warriors, which have been specially replicated, alongside costumed recreations and presentations.

    • Completely redeveloped for 2021, the Dorset County Museum has undergone a multimillion pound renovation.
