  • Senior Marketing Manager

    We are looking for an experienced Senior Marketing Manager to join our senior team within the five-star Waterside Holiday Group.

    Founded in 1963, the Waterside Holiday Group is a family-owned business with four five-star holiday parks across Dorset and Cornwall: Waterside Holiday Park & Spa, Chesil Vista Holiday Park and Osmington Holiday Park in Weymouth and Tregoad Holiday Park near Looe, Cornwall.

    Our parks offer a variety of luxury holiday homes for our guests to enjoy, from luxurious Lodges with hot tubs to classic country cottages and our grand Manor House. Whilst our Sales team scout out the most exclusive, contemporary holiday homes and lodges to offer our Owners.

    Based at Bowleaze Cove in Weymouth, our Marketing team work closely with our Caravan Sales and Holidays team, whilst also supporting retail, entertainment and recruitment across our parks. You will be working in a welcoming environment, surrounded by highly motivated and friendly individuals in an unbeatable location by the sea

    Key accountabilities and responsibilities

    Marketing strategy

    • Lead the process of formulating and evolving the marketing strategy, working closely with the Group Commercial Team, CEO and Marketing Consultant
    • Help support the implementation of the marketing strategy within an agreed budget.
    • Continue to develop the brand voice which becomes a recognisable communication style for our values and USP.
    • Be the brand champion – ensuring consistency of messaging across all platforms and activity for:
      • Holiday Home Sales
      • Holiday Sales
      • Experience (F&B, Activities, Entertainment)
      • Recruitment
    • Undertake continuous analysis of the competitive environment to keep abreast of consumer trends and competitor marketing movements
    • Continue to develop measurement and analysis process for the customer acquisition models across Holiday Home Sales and Holiday Sales – to understand CAC, LTV and ROI for our marketing activities

    Social & Digital

    • Develop and drive the social and digital activity plan to provide the best ROI in line with strategic goals
    • Be responsible for direct content and the agency management of our social platforms
    • Manage external agencies who support areas of PPC, SEO and social media
    • Ensure that our on-line presence is synonymous with our brand values and consistently delivers towards our strategic objectives

    Direct Revenue Activity

    • Work closely with the Holiday Home Ownership and Holiday Sales team to drive revenue through marketing activity
    • Create marketing assets and materials which are “on-message”, professional and add-value
    • Support the sales teams’ commercial objectives by providing them with appropriate market data, insights, marketing materials and contributing to customer or supplier presentations where relevant
    • Identify opportunities for new business channels or customers through marketing insight

    Content/ PR & Events

    • Be responsible for the creative inception and delivery of promotional events, campaigns, and activities
    • Plan and execute specific campaigns to support new products and service launches
    • Manage the contracted PR agency to ensure consistency with the overall marketing strategy and brand messaging – by doing so, deliver an increase in brand reach and awareness

    Budget & Reporting

    • In conjunction with the Marketing Consultant, set the Marketing budget for the business clearly outlining the allocation of funds by channel
    • Control budgets and allocate resources amongst projects/campaigns and measure their performance and potential ROI against agreed KPIs
    • Support the procurement process of external marketing parties to ensure best value and delivery on time and to the required standard
    • Provide comprehensive Marketing reports for the weekly team and monthly board meetings


    • Manage and coach the Marketing Executive – help them to develop and improve their knowledge and skills so that they can be a key contributor to the delivery of the marketing plan
    • Be a role model for the business values both internally and externally
    • Gather and share knowledge of the Holiday Park Industry – be the conduit for market information
    • Support the team by following established or agreed process and meeting deadlines
    • Be an active member of the Leadership Team and marketing lead for Group Commercial Team

    Key requirements

    • Experience in driving brand awareness and penetration
    • Confident, driven and dynamic marketeer with strong organisational skills
    • Entrepreneurial mind-set with the ability to spot opportunities
    • Excellent analytical skills – skilled in data analytics to include retailer / market data and on-line tools such as Google Analytics, WebTrends etc
    • Experience in Digital First approach
    • Creative and forward thinking – in strategic development and implementation
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, influencing others
    • Ability to manages multiple projects at the same time
    • Proven experience of negotiating and managing agreements

    Salary: £45,000-£50,000 a year
